The Historic Old Coast Hotel
Return to Glory is the battle cry at the beautiful Historic Old Coast Hotel on Franklin St. in Fort Bragg. This delightful Victorian hotel, built in 1892, has been lovingly restored to its stately elegance by owners Tom & Nina Carine. From its polished oak hardwood floors, to the ornate tin ceilings, visitors step back in time from the minute they enter the Hotel's front doors. The cheery warmth of the fireplace in the lobby begins your introduction to the charm and hospitality of this Historic Hotel. In 1997 the hotel was presented with The Mayors Award for Restoration of an Historic Building. Open year around, the Hotel has fifteen Victorian-style guestrooms, each one individually decorated and with a personality all its own. All rooms have their own private bathroom, so there are no long walks down a dark hallway in the middle of the night. Some of the rooms have gas-burning fireplaces, perfect for romance, as well as for those cold, foggy nights along the Mendocino coast. There are six rooms located in the main hotel, with nine more rooms bordering a lovingly-tended Italian garden. All rooms have cable televisions. Beds are king-size, queen-size and we do have a few rooms with double beds. Sorry, we cannot accommodate pets. The Hotel features a sports theme Bar & Grill, complete with fourteen TVs and filled with sports memorabilia. Popular with the locals, the handsomely carved antique bar features a number of local brews from the area's award-winning micro breweries. It also carries many of the superb wines produced right here in Mendocino County. We have a friendly, knowledgeable staff and offer concierge service for arranging activities, such as horseback riding, scuba diving & snorkeling, canoeing & kayaking, golf, hiking trails, or walks highlighting the beautiful Mendocino coast. The Hotel provides an excellent base from which to explore the area. There are five state parks within fifteen miles of the hotel, as well as the renown Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens. The Mendocino Coast is becoming well known for its exquisite wines and some wineries even offer tours.
